EXTRACTION & IMPLANT PLANNING · PHOENIX
PRF & bone grafting after tooth extraction in Phoenix.
A healthy future smile begins with a thoughtful plan. Dr. Jennifer Ebner considers your bone, healing needs, and future implant goals before recommending PRF, grafting, or both.

Biological options
Plan for what comes next.
Bone preservation options are best discussed before extraction.
CLEAR ANSWERS. THOUGHTFUL CARE.
Three tools. Three different purposes.
These materials can work together, but each has a distinct job. The right combination depends on your particular extraction site.
PRF
Made from your own blood. Platelet-rich fibrin contains a fibrin network and growth factors that may support early healing.
Bone grafts
Provide a framework that helps maintain space for new bone and may reduce changes in jawbone width or height.
Barrier membranes
Help protect the surgical area and separate fast-growing gum tissue from the space where bone needs to heal.
The simplest way to think about it: PRF supports the healing environment. Grafts provide structure. Membranes help protect the site. More materials are not always better.
PERSONALIZED SURGICAL PLANNING
The right treatment starts with your anatomy.
After an extraction, the jawbone naturally changes shape. If you may want an implant later, preserving enough bone matters.
Dr. Ebner assesses your existing bone, the extraction socket, gum health, and long-term restorative goals. When indicated, 3D CBCT imaging helps guide implant-related planning.
Evaluate the site. Understand the tooth, bone and surrounding tissue.
Discuss your future smile. Plan around bridges, implants or other appropriate options.
Choose materials thoughtfully. Recommend PRF, grafting, a membrane, or no added material, when clinically appropriate.
31
Informed by current research. A September 2026 analysis of 31 randomized clinical trials found that PRF may add a modest benefit to bone-preservation strategies. It is not necessarily a substitute for a graft, and no treatment guarantees complete bone preservation.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE THAT GUIDES THE DETAILS
Meet Dr. Jennifer Ebner, DDS.
A UCLA School of Dentistry graduate with more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Ebner provides biological and restorative care with a focus on sound judgment, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Her Phoenix practice offers PRF, bone grafting, and implant treatment supported by modern diagnostic technology.
She takes time to explain the options, discuss material choices, and recommend treatment with your long-term function and comfort in mind.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What patients want to know.
Do I need a bone graft after every extraction?
No. It depends on the amount of supporting bone, the extraction site and whether a dental implant may be planned. Dr. Ebner reviews your options before surgery.
Can PRF replace a bone graft?
Not always. PRF may support healing, but a bone graft provides a scaffold when preserving bone volume is important. Some patients may benefit from both.
Should I plan my dental implant before extraction?
Whenever possible, yes. Discussing your long-term tooth replacement goals before extraction can inform whether socket preservation or other treatment is appropriate.
